Particle size standards and count controls

This new series of particle size standards are traceable to the International System of Units (SI) and to NIST. They have precisely defined counts per ml and thus provide an accurate and convenient method for calibrating or checking the performance of laser particle counters.

The products are suspensions of monodisperse polystyrene spheres (PSL) for use in airborne or liquid particle dispersion apparatus. They are available in a range of sizes from 0,5 to 100µm in diameter.

The particle diameters are calibrated by electron or optical microscopy, by electrical sensing zone, single particle optical sizing and analytical differential centrifugation, using reference materials calibrated by the DFM, an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited organisation. NIST traceability is obtained through NIST Standard Reference Material (SRM)

The particles are suspended in a specially formulated suspension to ensure optimal dispersion, low background signal and long-term stability. They are packaged in 20mL tamper proof, dropper-tipped vials. Each package includes a Certificate of Calibration and Traceability to the International System of Units (SI) and the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
