Particle Metrix
Particle Metrix has made a name for itself in recent years as an analyzer manufacturer for nanoparticles in liquids. The products are on the one hand colloid analyzers and, on the other hand equipment for clinical research and bioscience. Colloid and Life Science were established as two different companies at the end of 2017, the Colloid Metrix GmbH and the Particle Metrix GmbH.

Exosomes are best defined as membrane-bound extracellular vesicles (EVs), that are naturally released from cells.
EVs including exosomes carry markers of cells of origin and have specialized functions in physiological processes, from coagulation and intercellular signalling to waste management. Exosomes have been shown to be key mediators of cell to cell communication, delivering a distinct cargo of lipids, proteins and nucleic acids that reflects their cell of origin. The exosomes released by regenerative cells such as stem cells, for example, are potent drivers of healing and repair.
Consequently, there is a growing interest in clinical applications of EVs as biomarkers and up-to-date therapies.
The emerging need for accurate and reproducible exosome analysis has not ignored Particle Metrix. ZetaView the nano particle analysis instrument, particularly useful for virus and liposome characterisation has become the leading technology for exosome analysis too.
